In christmas my family use to join together in my home or in my grand parents home. The evening starts with special dinner ( bacalhau) an a special disert that we just have at Christmas eve(filhoses, fainha e abobora fritas em oleo). Then at midnight we have the traditional change of presents. After that every people go to their homes, and next day we join together again to lunch. It's almost the same every year!!!!
Christmas in my family is all about being together. We dine good old traditional food, like codfish with potatoes, turkey and seafood. And sweets like "rabanadas", "pasteis of sweet potato and of gila" and many other cakes. Since I was little, I've always opened my presents on the morning of 25 of December. So I spent all night asking if it was time:) he he
And that is my christmas, that we call "NATAL"
Christmas could be faced as a season of joy, welth, peace, friendship, compasion and love; values that should exist in our souls every single day. Nowadays the consumerism has taken a lot of importance in our society, tourning simple gestures in some kind of vague and empty exchange of cards and presents. In my opinion the christmas should be, in first place, for the children, a time of joy and family reunion and a time of reflexion in our dids and thoughts, aspiring to be a better human being.
Hello
In my oppinon Christmas in our days is more one economic holiday them a familiar festival.
Christmas isn’t one of my favorites holidays, but still I like to stay whit my family in this holiday
What we usually do in Christmas is:
On 24 of December, during the day we prepare the meals, cakes, sweets, etc. All the family comes to my parent’s home, at dinner we eat cod fish (bacalhau), we do that every year. Then, after the dinner, we seat, and talk, drink and eat. At midnight we open the presents, the best part. My mother usually goes to Missa do Galo. On 25 of December we lunch turkey, which my mother prepares.
Once upon in Christmas
Me and my family use to join in my sister’s house for Christmas. The day before Christmas the women cook the supper and bake the dessert. I and my sister prepare the Christmas tree, the children help us too. The men fill the tree with presents and organize the dinner table. When the day comes, we sit all the family at a long and decorated table and supper together. Even after mid night we open the presents, the children are always so anxious, they never wait for the Santa’s arrival. After that my father uses to play some songs on the piano and we sing together and dance too. It’s so different but so funny too!
Generally speaking, Christmas is all about children and family reunion. Most family traditions have come to include the display of Nativity scenes, Holly and Christmas trees, the exchange of gifts and cards, and the arrival of Father Christmas or Santa Claus on Christmas Eve or Christmas morning. Popular Christmas themes include the promotion of goodwill and peace. All in all my family keeps the tradition.
Kisses for you all

Hello everyone!
Today I will talk (write) about the Christmas tradition in my family. It’s normal, in Portugal celebrates the thanks giving day between the 24th and 25th December, but in my family is different.
In my family, we usually celebrate Christmas between 23rd and 24th December. I don’t know why, and no one in my family knows either. Since my great-grandfather time, were always like that.
We unite in my grandmother house, about 35 people, and dinner all together in a huge table whit 87 years!!!
We eat at dinner “bacalhau cozido”, and at midnight we open the gifts.

Hello Ladies!
How are you?
Today I’m to talk about my family traditions concerning Christmas and if you help me I’d like also to learn something about your Christmas traditions.
In my family we use to join all of us to celebrate this tradition. In this days we use to prepare a lot of good food, like traditional cakes and sweets, and at 24th December night our dinner its tradition to eat cod fish. Then at midnight we exchange presents with one another, and this should be the best part of the night, children go wild!
As you see it’s a date of celebration and happiness, but still isn’t my favorite Holliday, because above all I think Christmas it’s a marketing maneuver created to generate money around people beliefs, and it works…
To finish, I’d like to know if you celebrate Christmas more or less like me. Tell me something.
Thank you ladies!
Beijo
This is a very special season here in Portugal. It’s a special season, specially for me, because its in this time of year that all of my family comes together to celebrate Christmas. On the 24th of December, after dinner time, its time to share some presents between each other and wish a Merry Christmas. Who likes most this time of year are the kids.. They get all exited because of the all the presents they are about to receive. Only the good behaved children receive presents but in the end they all get them.. lool that was why I loved to the a kid!!
